Welcome to Moles’ and Rabbits’ (Year 3) Class Page!

Our teachers are: Miss Turnbull (Moles) and Mr Bown (Rabbits), with Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Deller, Miss Williamson, Mrs. Bana, Mrs. Guy, Mrs. Karasz & Miss Fraser are our fantastic Teaching Assistants.
Indoor PE is on Wednesdays and outdoor PE on Thursdays (please come suitably dressed).
Swimming will be on Wednesdays – in the Spring Term. More information to follow.
Spelling tests take place on Fridays unless otherwise stated.

Planet Earth

In this geography topic, we will learn more about our amazing world. We will learn about the continents and oceans of the world. We will use geographical terms such as equator, hemispheres, and Arctic Circle. We will learn the eight compass points and how to use them to describe where places are located. In addition, we will learn about time zones and some of the ways we can look after our planet.

Stone age to the Iron age

Within this history topic, we will learn how our ancestors lived over 10,000 years ago. We will learn how they not only survived but thrived in our local landscape. We will learn about the challenges they faced and how, over time, they began to use metal tools. We will also learn how our ancestors’ lives changed from a hunter-gatherer lifestyle to a more settled farming life, leading to the growth of communities.

On 18th November, Year 3 will also visit Creswell Crags. This area once sheltered Neanderthals over 50,000 years ago and is known for being the most northerly place in Europe where Ice Age cave art has been found.
