Year 5

Welcome to the Year 5 page

Welcome to a new term in Year 5. We have lots of exciting activities planned for you and can't wait to get started! We hope you are already settling into your new classes and getting into the swing of things. Your new Year 5 teachers are:

Mrs Cookson, Mrs Bailey, Mrs Barlow and Mrs Deller.

Some important things you need to remember are:

PE days are Mondays (outdoor Games) and Thursdays (indoor PE) - Remember to come to school in your PE kit.

Forest school is on Wednesday afternoons. Class 11 and 12 are going to Forest school on alternate weeks. Class 11- 8th, 22nd Sep, 6th October

                               Class 12- 15th, 29th Sep, 13th October

You will need to read 4 times each week and have this signed in your organiser. If you continue reading every week, you will be a fantastic reader by the end of Year 5 and be able to come to the reading treat each term!

Spelling tests are every Friday ( Mrs Deller's group Thursday) Make sure you practise your spelling words at home before your test.

Guitar lessons are on Tuesdays and Woodwind lessons are on Wednesdays

Our topic this half term is "WOULD YOU LIVE IN USA?

Next half term it will be all about  SPACE and the RACE TO THE MOON...

We have organised an exciting visit from a planetarium to start the topic during the first week back after half term.
