Monday
Topic - Geography
Today’s lesson is all about Peru. You might remember that Paddington is from Peru. This is a country which contains a proportion of rainforests. Look at the PowerPoint and create a travel brochure to show us what you have found out.
Tuesday
Topic - Science
Today’s topic session is a Science lesson.
We would like you to go on a scavenger hunt around your house/garden. Can you collect things that are living and non-living and record them in the grid.
Have a think about what the term “living” means? What will these things look like? Have a think about objects that are “non-living”, what will this mean? Can you sort your things using this worksheet to help you?
This sheet does not need to be submitted back to us.
Wednesday
Topic - Music
Last week we looked at using our bodies to make music. This week we are going to continue looking at this but we are going to see how we can make music and sing/chant a song at the same time. I have attached a video of ‘Epo I Tai Tai E’. This is a fun folk song from the Maori people of New Zealand. It's a great song to add body percussion to and you can start with the basics and then see if you can advance to the trickier actions. See if you can sing, pat, clap, and snap all the way to the end!
Thursday
Topic - Art/DT
Now you have learnt about The Amazon Rainforest and Peru, where Paddington is from, can you design a home for him in the rainforest? What do you imagine Paddington and Aunt Lucy’s home in the rainforest would look like? You can draw/collage/make a 3-d model/build out of Lego – be creative. Again, this is not required to be sent back to us, but if you would like to send it via email, we’d love to see.
Friday
PE
Last week we looked at moving our bodies in different ways. This week, linking with our topic about 'The Rainforests', we are going to see if we can move our bodies like an animal from the rainforest. I have attached a video for you below where the children are dancing like a monkey. Join in with them and see if you can dance like a monkey too. Then, if you are up for a challenge, can you create your own dance for an animal from the rainforest? Think of the different ways you can move your body to act like the animal you have chosen. Have fun!
