Today’s lesson is all about your senses. We have 5 senses, smell, touch, taste, feel (emotions) and see. We are going to focus on 4 of those. Watch a short section of the video attached and look at the pictures we have sent you (you can find some of your own too if you want to) Complete the grid with expanded nouns phrases to say what you would see, hear, touch and how you would feel. We have also given you a word mat to give you some ideas.
Based on yesterday’s lesson, can you use some of the openers on the sheet we have given you to create sentences using your senses from yesterday.
E.g. High above my head were squawking parrots searching for delicious berries to devour.
These sentences do not need to be submitted back to us but they will help you with your writing tomorrow.
Today we want to you pretend you are an explorer who has arrived at the rainforest for the first time. Using your expanded noun phrases from Monday and your sentences with interesting openers, we would like you to write a description of what you can see, hear, touch, smell and how you would feel.
We want you to treat this as a BIG WRITE and try and do as much as you can on your own. We want to see adjectives, openers, conjunctions (and, but, so, because) and full stops and capital letters.
We would expect between half a page to a page of writing, depending of the size of text. Because this is a large piece of work. We are setting this assignment for Wednesday and Thursday. You could always write your text on Wednesday and then edit and improve your work on Thursday, or even add some pictures to show what you have seen along the way.
Continue your activity from yesterday.

Today’s lesson is a quick write based on a picture.
Have a look at the picture in the middle and complete the boxes. This activity does not have to be sent back to us.
