September 2020 New Starters

September 2020

Hello everyone.

We know that things are a little unusual at the moment and in previous years we have been able to invite your children for pre-school visits to spend time in the F2 classroom and get to know some of the adults that will working with the children in the new school year. We will be updating this page regularly with videos for grown-ups and children to share at home, with stories, games and information that we hope you will find useful. Until then, stay safe and we look forward to seeing you all soon.

The Gotcha Smile - transition story

Mr Hughes reads this for every new class that arrives at school and it is reread throughout the year. It is always a reminder that smiling is a perfect way to make friends. We can’t wait to see you all in September when we can share this story with you.

RBPS New Starters video September 2020

We have created this video as we are unable to hold a parents welcome meeting in the school hall this year.

We have tried to include all relevant and up to date information, however please be aware that some information and arrangements are subject to change depending on government guidance and advice.

If you have any unanswered questions at the end of the video, please contact the school and we shall endeavour to answer them as quickly as possible.

Meet the F2 team

We would like to introduce the Foundation 2 team at Richard Bonington Primary and Nursery School for September 2020.

Class teachers are Mr Hughes, Mrs Lamb and Mr Beard. Teaching Assistants are Mrs Hall and Mrs Jones.

We look forward to welcoming you all in September and can't wait to see you all. For now, please look through the new starters section on the school website and try some of the games and activities that we have already uploaded. We will continue to add ore content over the next few weeks. We also add video stories that you can share together at home.

Here are some things that we think everyone can do to help their child prepare for starting school in September. Lots of these can be practised at home over the summer in preparation for starting school, children will continue to learn and refine these skills over their year in Foundation 2 but you can help them by starting to learn these valuable skills.
