PSHE/RSHE
PSHE and RSHE at Richard Bonington.
Here at Richard Bonington, we follow the SCARF programme for our PSHE/RSHE lessons. SCARF stands for Safety, Caring, Achievement, Resilience and Friendship. The programme fulfils all of the DfE statutory requirements for Relationships & Health Education as well as promoting positive behaviour, mental health, wellbeing, resilience and achievement. SCARF also includes lessons linked to British Values, Protected Characteristics and many elements of SMSC. It reinforces our work across the school on safeguarding and equality. Teachers may adapt lessons and use additional resources to tailor the sessions to meet the needs of each cohort of children.
The units we cover are:
- Me and My Relationships
- Valuing Differences
- Keeping Safe
- Rights and Respect
- Being My Best
- Growing and Changing
We have adapted the growing and changing units to follow our RSHE policy and vocabulary progression.
Further information about the progression of skills and knowledge is available from the PSHE co-ordinator, Mrs Birkle. Due to SCARF copyright rules we are unable to share the skills progression document on our website.
