Overview of learning expectations

Structure of our Remote Learning Timetable

Whilst this is an outline of all the Year 3 remote learning that your child could complete each week, we understand that it might not be possible to do everything due to your own personal circumstances at home. Anything we can offer extra support with please don't hesitate to contact us.

Maths

  • Every day there will be a video uploaded which will be taken from the White Rose Maths website. This is matched to the year group and topic we are covering.
  • This will have an interactive element which children can complete and pause the video if needed to complete the questions in their own time on paper.
  • There will be 3 paper based/practical activities in today per week to complete if you can. Twice a week, there will be an “assignment” uploaded to teams which each pupil is required to complete and submit back to us via Teams.
  • If your child is finding something particularly difficult and you would like some more support, please email your child’s class teacher and they will contact you to provide this.
  • If you would like to do any additional Maths practice, please remember that you can access NumBots and websites such as “Daily 10” and “Hit the button”, "Times table Rock Stars".
  • We have also created a support subfolder which includes some activities to help children who may be finding the work tricky.

English

  • Every day there will be an English based activity which the children can complete independently or with your support.
  • Twice a week, there will be an “assignment” uploaded which each pupil is required to complete and submit back to us via Teams.
  • If your child is finding something particularly difficult and you would like some more support, please email your child’s class teacher and they will contact you to provide this.
  • We have also created a support subfolder which includes some activities to help children who may be finding the work tricky
  • There will be 3 guided reading activities a week based on one text.
  • There will also be the Y3 spellings for the week and some activities to support practising these words and/or rules.

Topic

  • This session may be slightly different each day. It may consist of a history, geography, science, art, DT, P.E, PSHE or music lesson.
  • There will be guidance with each session for the children to follow. These do not have to be submitted back to us, but if you would like to keep your work and create a “project book” to bring in after lockdown for us to share as a class.
  • If there is anything you would like us to see in the meantime, please attach it to an email to any of the year 3 team, as we would love to see their work!

Story time

  • This will last roughly 15 minutes and will be a chance for your child to log on and hear a story being read “live” @ 2:00pm.
  • During this session, please ensure your child’s microphone is turned off to ensure the teacher can be heard.

Other activities

  • Daily reading
  • Fluency
  • Exerise
  • Golden time ( watch a film, draw, get crafty)

Key information

  • There is a powerpoint on our Year group home page which will show you/your child how to use TEAMS.
  • Every day there will be a video from the Year 3 team to explain that days work and where to access this.
  • Please remember that the “chat” section on TEAMS will only be for the teachers to communicate with you and your child.
  • If you need to contact a teacher please email the class email address. One of us will try to get back to you as quickly as possible.

  • If your child needs any support with a specific area of learning, please email one of the year 3 team and you will be contacted directly via email for a teacher to provide more support or schedule a 1:1 TEAMS meeting to help.

Thank you,

Stay safe,

Year 3 team
