What are the lines of Longitude and latitude?

So the most famous line of latitude is the Equator. The Equator spits the earth into two hemispheres, the northern hemisphere where we live and the southern hemisphere. Other lines of latitude are the Artic and Antarctic circle. If you went there you wouldn't be able to see a line, but they do help describe where you are in the world. The line of longitude that runs through London is also quite famous, known as the Greenwich Meridian it is the starting point at zero degrees for all the other lines of Longitude. Depending on where you are on the Earth, you are either East or West of the Greenwich Meridian.

Where is Nottingham?
