At Richard Bonington Primary School, we think that it’s really important that the children develop a love of reading and enjoy reading for pleasure! For this reason, we introduce the ‘Extreme Reading’ project which we launch with the children every year.
Over the February half term holidays, we invite the children to take part in the Richard Bonington ‘Extreme Reading’ challenge. We ask them to take a photo of themselves as they read… in an unusual place! Perhaps they are caught reading on the swings at the park, maybe they are found reading to their pet or even at the dentist! It doesn’t have to be a book that they are caught reading either! It could be a newspaper, kindle or even the back of a sweet wrapper!
