In English for the next two weeks we are going to focussing on Persuasive Adverts.
Today watch the Oak Academy video on introducing you to the features of an advert and the type of language that is used.
Your activity below is based on adding -er and -est to adjectives. These words are called comparatives (er) and superlatives (est) and they will be useful later in the unit when we are writing our own adverts. Start with the first activity, which is writing some sentences. Then if you want to do some extra you can do the missing word sheet. If you need something a bit easier use the support sheet.
Challenge task- listen out for any similar words when you are watching tv this week when an advert comes on. Maybe you'll hear about the 'cleanest' clothes ever or the 'comfiest' bed or the 'smoothest' skin. You could make a list over the week of the words that you hear.
